Randal Corsen is another local favorite who has performed many times in the Fortchurch. He is the great - great grandson of the well-known local poet / pianist / composer Joseph Sickman Corsen (1853-1911) who was a great composer of Antillean classical music. Randal paid homage to his musical ancestor by recording a wonderful album of his compositions. Over the last decade, Randal, who still lives in The Netherlands, has proven his special skills in the jazz and Latin music scene in both The Netherlands and Curaçao. He received high praise for his work as a pianist, composer and arranger for his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Evolushon’, for the two Edison-award nominated albums of jazz vocalist Izaline Calister, which he also co-produced, and for his compositions and performance on the debut album of Bye-Ya!  Pictured below is a clipping from the Amigoe newspaper of Randal's first public concert at the Fortchurch in 1996.
